Have you ever been to an airport, if so, can you remember an orange car rental company. If so, you have already had contact with the parent company of my work placement company.
Here in Dun Laoghaire I work in the business administration of South County self-drive Ltd., the legal name of the franchise location of this Sixt location. Since the owner of Sixt here also owns the petrol station in front of us, my team and I are also responsible for doing admin as well as accounting for it. For the pottery, as it’s called internally, I am responsible for accounting, and calculating the figures if fuel acquired with fuel cards, thus I am also improving my skills in that field.
The weather, which was typically Irish during our stay is THE number one small talk topic. It sometimes seems comical how quickly rain starts pouring, nonetheless I am grateful for having the opportunity of doing an internship here.
